Raw Images from the Optic Cross is the story of the son of a Holocaust survivor growing up in a house of imagined fears and ghosts, and his eventual trip to his father’s hometown in Germany to learn about their unspoken past. In Europe he follows the path his grandparents too in 1943, eventually ending at Auschwitz, where they perished.

This film is painterly and collage-like; a child’s nightmare. It begins to question how history is remembered and represented – and how it is imagined by those not there at the time.
